One of the biggest challenges in design is translating an idea from your imagination into reality. Things rarely come out exactly as envisioned, but through the process, there's always something to gain. In this case, the result wasn't perfect, but the learning experience was invaluable.
Process
I started by creating a 3D model of my own head using FaceBuilder for Blender. After exporting the model, I intentionally distorted the facial mesh using manual scanning glitches. I then recreated this distorted version in Blender, using it as the core shape to design a custom iPhone case—literally based on my own face.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford to 3D print the final model, but the process itself turned into a meaningful experiment. It allowed me to learn the basics of Blender and explore creative distortion techniques. The result might be imperfect, but it now exists as a memory and a stepping stone in my design journey.
